This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated, enthusiastic midwife to lead the birth centre team to deliver high quality, women focussed, midwife-led intrapartum & postnatal care

The Birth centre lead midwife's role will include:

  • Maximising potential for positive childbirth experiences, enhance the physical and psychological wellbeing of childbearing women and to facilitate an optimal start in life for their babies

  • Promotion and sharing of expertise that can help keep birth normal.

  • Good leadership - working and sharing of ideas to develop the birth centre further and promoting support systems to foster positive attitudes among all levels of staff.

  • An increase in births

  • Prompt Sickness and Absence management

  • Managing staff performance in line with the Trust Policy

  • Management of Duty Rosters, ensuring adequate cover on all shifts

  • Undertaking staff appraisals.
