OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT

Specialist Occupational Therapist – Medicine for the Elderly

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest and busiest teaching hospitals, with a unique profile of strong local services and a focused set of specialist services.

Occupational therapy is part of a large Therapy department with 300 therapists that provide a service under a supportive management structure consisting of a Head of profession and a Director of Therapies. The department puts a strong emphasis on the learning environment and ensures that staff has the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to their full potential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the purposeful development of a specialist older person’s rehabilitation unit at Orpington Hospital that offers a rewarding and challenging clinical environment. This 38 bedded unit will have inter-disciplinary working at the centre of its rehabilitation philosophy. We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join this dynamic team.

Do you have proven clinical competence in the management of complex frail older adults with acute and rehabilitative needs? We are looking for a dynamic, advanced practitioner with strong interpersonal skills and clinical competence. If so, you could be the Occupational Therapist we are looking for.

Working in a department, that offers a wide range of experience, you will be encouraged and supported by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to develop your clinical, managerial and educational skills as well as contribute towards service development.
