The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.

We are looking for a dynamic Clinic Receptionist to provide a comprehensive and professional reception and administrative service in the Colposcopy Unit at Orpington Hospital.

To provide a comprehensive receptionist, administrative and supportive service to the Colposcopy team and to patients of the unit, and to accurately maintain patient records and statistical information, utilising computer facilities available.

The post holder will have responsibility (along with the Administrative Lead) to work collaboratively to ensure that all patients have been booked and registered to the unit and that all clinics are prepared and organised appropriately. In addition, the candidate will be expected to maintain diaries, appointments system and records ensuring follow up as requested, including those who fail to attend.

They will liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and managers to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care.

The ideal candidate should be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who can work effectively as part of a team to deliver a high-quality and efficient administrative service. The post holder needs to possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have the ability to remain calm in a busy environment. Excellent organisational skills and commitment to make a difference in our patients’ journey are also essential.

The successful candidate is required to have previous receptionist experience with the ability to use their initiative and manage, prioritise and complete their workload with autonomy while working under pressure.

Ideally the post holder will have experience of hospital administration systems and in particular PIMS. This is not essential, however they will need to understand the importance of ensuring quality data is being inputted into our systems.
