JUNIOR CLINICAL FELLOW TRAUMA AND ORTHOPAEDIC
Applications are invited for the post of Junior Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedic at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which is a Major Trauma Centre and is part of King’s Health Partners.
Princess Royal University Hospital part of Kings College University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit dynamic and enthusiastic Junior Clinical Fellows to join our team in Orthopaedics based at the Princess Royal University Hospital.
The successful applicants will be part of a busy Orthopaedic Department, and will be required to work as part of the team, including providing cover for annual leave and study leave. The post holder will be expected to share in the daily care of the inpatients, participate in fixed commitments in theatre and clinics, and become involved in audit and research. We are currently in the process of introducing a rota that provides at least 25% of the sessions as protected training sessions in elective and trauma operating lists as well as elective orthopaedic and fracture clinics. This post will therefore suit junior doctors with or without prior orthopaedic experience who wish to enhance their surgical skills as well as gain further knowledge in the perioperative management of orthopaedic patients. There is regular departmental teaching and the post holder will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate teaching sessions.
Working at the PRUH site will provide a good opportunity to participate in the work of a busy District General Hospital in an attractive area of North Kent. There are good links to London, with two main line stations positioned equidistantly to the hospital and linked by regular bus services.
The area is close to the lovely Kent countryside and has the benefit of a desirable residential property selection and many good and outstanding local schools.
The hospital has the benefit of a shop, two restaurants and a coffee shop and is located within a small shopping area which also includes good local facilities.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
