Deputy Director of Operations - One for Planned Care, one for Unplanned.
Due to ongoing growth there are two opportunities based at the PRUH for individuals interested in either a Permanent or Secondment opportunity.
King's College Hospital NHS FT provides clinically outstanding care to 1.5 million people across five major sites in Southeast London. King’s is a major trauma centre and delivers specialist care in stroke, transplantation, fetal medicine, cardiac, neurosurgery and haemato-oncology services. A longstanding Foundation Trust, working closely with King's College London, King's is also a founding member of the AHSC King's Health Partners and is a member of the Shelford Group of Hospitals. Clinical expertise and academic excellence works hand in hand with leading edge care and treatment at King’s. By any definition, this is an excellent healthcare provider which is now looking with ambition and optimism toward the future.
The Trust’s strategy is to deliver care as part of a joined-up and well-managed healthcare system, built in partnership with GPs, commissioners and other healthcare providers.
There is an ongoing, and wide-ranging transformation programme within King’s, covering pathway and service redesign and also ways of working. A suite of best-practice, standardised patient pathways are being developed, and a key part of the success of this transformation programme is the talent of the leadership in place at the top of the divisional and hospital structures on the hospital sites.
The post holders will be based at The Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) which is part of the wider King’s College Hospital Trust. The PRUH is situated in Orpington Kent and is led by a triumvirate including a Director of Operations, Medical Director and Director of Nursing. This senior leadership team also oversees services provided at the South Site hospitals.
The PRUH provides elective, outpatient, inpatient and emergency services to the population of Bromley. There will be two Deputy Director of Operations roles on site covering planned and unplanned care. The post holders will be directly accountable to the Director of Operations and will have site-wide accountability for a number of performance and service delivery areas pertinent to their care group’s specialties.
These roles will be attractive to those who have senior operational roles in the NHS and who bring significant acute experience. We would like to hear from those already operating at a senior level, as well as those ambitious and able leaders who aspire to a significant step forward in their careers. A desire to be part of an exciting future for one of the country’s premier Foundation Trusts along with an energy and passion to drive forward change is a must for any applicant.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
