We currently have a vacancy for a motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our stores, working at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington, Kent.

These posts will be 3 x Rotational ATOs – rotating through Aseptics, Dispensary and Orpington Hospital and 1 x Stores & Distribution based post at Princess Royal University Hospital.  You will gain practical experience, assisting in the delivery of the service in each section. This will include dealing with patient and staff enquires, ward top ups and receiving stock into the department.

Applicants must be self-motivated and show a willingness to learn and be trained. You must be able to pay close attention to detail and consistently produce work to the required standard within set deadlines.  You must have completed or be willing to undertake a NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.  You will be expected to use the pharmacy stock control and issuing system and therefore must have appropriate computer skills.  You must also be able to carry out all manual handling duties.

The successful candidates will have good verbal and written communication skills, be strong team players and able to work on their own initiative, within the limits of the job role.

You will need to have GCSE Grades A-D (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English, good communication skills, be hard working, reliable and keen to learn. Full training will be provided.

Candidates who fail to supply a detailed supporting statement specifying how their skills and experience match the person specification contained in the job description will not be invited for interview.

You will be expected to participate in late night, weekend and bank holiday rota.
