An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 to join our well established Gastro Team on Medical 6 within Medicine setting at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Bromley.

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse, with the possession of both a strong clinical knowledge base and relevant skill set. The post holder will provide nursing support to the acute patients undergoing different investigations and procedures e.g.  Stenting, ERCP, OGD and looking after different conditions within the Gastroenterology speciality. There will be an opportunity to work with the specialist nurses in Upper GI management and the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service with its proactive interaction with the gastroenterology inpatients.

The Department is an acute and a busy environment and looking for a registered nurse who has proven experience working with ageing and complex patients. You should have leadership skills and the ability to develop and drive a new initiative in enhancing the patient quality and journey through the healthcare service

Excellent communication is essential and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate and sustain new innovative ways of working which facilitate developments in nursing practice. Experience of being in charge and developing others is also essential.

The post holder will act as a positive role model in the promotion of quality care delivery for acutely unwell medical patients within our wards, committed to improving service delivery and be flexible to the needs of the service.

Furthermore, we have implemented innovative band 6 development programmes that will provide successful candidates with supported pathways, tailored to individual preference, and geared towards producing the next generation of Ward managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Educators.
