Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.
The Specialist Virology Laboratory has a vacancy for 1 permanent full time (37.5 hours) Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO).
The post holder will be required to work as part of a team within the sections of the laboratory.
They will support and assist Biomedical Scientists in the maintenance and preparation of equipment, sorting and numbering of clinical samples, laboratory cleaning duties, disposal of waste, data input, and assist in maintaining stocks of consumables and reagents. Some of these tasks require the ability to concentrate for long periods and attention to detail. Previous laboratory experience and good I.T skills are essential. An NVQ in clinical laboratory support or BTEC in science is required.
