The place to work in pathology
We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.
Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.
A vacancy has arisen to join our Histopathology Department, within Viapath Analytics. The Histology department is based at the St. Thomas' Foundation Trust in Westminster.
The department employs approximately 30 scientific staff and offers a comprehensive range of services to regional and national referring clinicians. The department processes a wide range of surgical specimens and incorporates a busy immunohistochemistry section. There is also a dedicated renal biopsy service. In addition, the department offers diagnostic molecular biology techniques. The department processes approximately 30,000 cases per year.
The department is fully computerised, has CPA accreditation and is registered as a training laboratory, where continuing professional development is supported and actively encouraged.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated medical laboratory assistant, preferrably with previous experience working in a laboratory to join our team. The candidates must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to work well under pressure in a physically demanding environment.
The applicants will participate in the weekly rotation of laboratory areas, including the core laboratory, specimen dissection and specimen reception, and will assist the scientific and clinical team.
Please note, for vacancies that receive a high number of applications, we reserve the right to close the post before the stated closing date, so please apply as soon as possible.
Please email or phone for an informal visit of the department.
