The place to work in pathology
We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.
Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.
The Viapath Genetics Laboratory in the Guy’s Genetics Centre is recruiting to a Medical Technical Officer 2 (afc equivalent band 5) post; this is not an NHS post.
The post holder will perform routine and complex genetic diagnostic tests and associated administration duties, with minimal supervision by clinical scientists working in the Genetics Laboratory.
Preference will be given to those candidates with experience of working in a genetics laboratory with particular knowledge of commonly used techniques such as Next Generation Sequencing, Sanger sequencing, MLPA and genotyping. The post holder will be expected to work as part of a team of technical staff under the line management of an MTO3.
The post holder will undertake a range of laboratory duties whenever appropriate, such as genotyping set up and analysis, Sanger sequencing, next generation sequencing, making use of the Laboratory robotics equipment
The post holder will be responsible for specific parts of the service in collaboration with a clinical scientist which may include performing data analysis and standard report writing.
Interviews will be held February 8th, 2018
