Senior Clinical Vascular Scientist

£51,383 - £57,596 per annum, inc HCA (plus ongoing recruitment and retention premium)

Are you a skilled vascular ultrasound specialist?

Would you like to join a large team of vascular scientists in a busy department in a London teaching hospital with access to a varied case mix, opportunities to be involved in research, teaching and training and to enjoy good working relationships with vascular surgery, radiology and other specialties around the hospital?

If so we are keen to her from you!

This role is a senior position which will allow the post holder to have a mix of team based and independent practice, sometimes running clinical sessions on other sites.  We perform investigations for a full range of vascular conditions including transcranial Doppler for sickle cell disease, dialysis access and renal artery stenosis.  There would also be opportunities to develop research interests both individually and for the department.   We are looking for someone with enthusiasm to help change and improve the practices of the department with an evidence based and patient focussed approach.

The role would involve regular contact with our trainees on a day to day basis as well as possibilities to partake in formal teaching associated with Kings College London

What can we offer you?

All staff are allocated protected non-clinical time to allow participation in audit activities and are encouraged where appropriate to contribute to the work of national and international bodies such as the SVT, ESVS etc.

We hold weekly clinical review meetings in the department to discuss interesting cases, review journal articles, discuss, plan, and review audit projects.

The department is well supported and resourced, all scanning rooms have aircon, high specification ultrasound scanners and we have two dedicated administrators and a very positive team-working attitude.

This role also attracts a recruitment and retention premium of £5,000 per year.

Situated in Camberwell Kings has good transport links around London and easy access to everything our Capital city has to offer!

As a senior position this role would suit candidates with 5 or more years’ experience in vascular ultrasound.  SVT accreditation or HCPC registration as a vascular scientist is required.
