Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse (37.5hrs)
The NIHR / Wellcome Trust King’s Clinical Research Facility (CRF) on the Denmark Hill campus of King’s College Hospital (KCH) seeks to appoint a Band 6 nurse with clinical research experience.This position will be fixed-term until 01 April 2018 with the possibility of extension after this date. Working hours will be Monday to Friday with some weekends and nights when applicable. A degree of flexibility is necessary to accommodate the requirements of the trials. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Enthusiasm and a commitment to work within a multidisciplinary team in a dedicated research setting, with both patients and healthy volunteers, are essential, whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Band 6, Adult Research Nurse
You should be a Level 1 Registered Nurse with NMC registration. Along with extensive experience of working within a ward environment, you should also have an understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a clinical or life-sciences related subject and show evidence of further education, including post-graduate certification. You will have at least one year’s experience of undertaking, co-ordinating or managing clinical research in an academic or commercial setting, preferably involving phase I, II and III clinical trials. Venepuncture and cannulation skills are required.
Numeracy and drug calculation skills will be tested at interview.
