Specialist Physiotherapist - Women’s Health

Band 7 Permanent post

The urogynaecological department at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KCH) led by the acclaimed Professor Linda Cardozo is now recruiting to senior physiotherapy positions for exceptional candidates.

The physiotherapy women’s health team manage a caseload including highly complex cases. KCH is a tertiary centre and delivers urogynaecological services to a local, national and international population.

Interest and experience in research is important for the physiotherapy roles and the opportunity to work alongside Professor Cardozo in MDT research projects will be available. The women’s health physiotherapy service is located within the urogynaecology suite and functions as an essential part of the multi-disciplinary team working together with expert medical & nursing clinicians. The team are renowned for their research work, presenting at conferences internationally.

The Specialist Physiotherapist role is senior one and as part of the Urogynaecology Physiotherapy team shares responsibility for coordination, delivery and governance of the service. The postholder will be expected to contribute to service improvement and development whilst working collaboratively within the Therapy Leadership team.

With proven skills in the management of Women’s Health conditions, the post holder must have excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be encouraged and supported to develop their clinical, teaching, research and managerial skills.

King’s College NHS Foundation Trust has a large Therapy department with 250+ therapists from Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy professions. Each service is organised under a Head of Profession, and a Chief of Therapies leads the service and represents Therapies across the Trust. The department has well-established traditions of supporting learning and development, which ensures all staff are given opportunities to develop skills and knowledge to reach their full potential. King’s offers an excellent learning environment with easy access to the Medical School library, and other training facilities.

You must have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and Registration with the Health Care Professions Council is essential for this post. 

Recruitment is primarily for a permanent vacancy but there is also an opportunity for a fixed term maternity leave cover.
