Senior Physiotherapist (Paediatrics), Rotational Band 6

37.5 hours per week

(There is also the possibility of an additional B6 Fixed Term Post, full or part time considered) 

The dynamic physiotherapy department at Kings College Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the paediatric physiotherapy team. This rotational post is in the acute setting on the paediatric wards. Specialist paediatric services at King’s include respiratory and cystic fibrosis, neurology / neurosurgery, neuro-rehabilitation, liver disease, trauma, orthopaedics, neonatal and paediatric intensive care (PICU). 

In Neurosurgery, you work within the multi-disciplinary team gaining experience with emergency and planned neuro-surgery, neurorehabilitation and work closely with the Band 7 providing input to neurological patients within paediatrics. On the general respiratory rotation you will be caring for children post liver-transplantation, working in PICU and on the surgical and orthopaedic ward. 

You will also take part in the weekend and on-call rotas at King’s. 

HCPC registration and previous paediatric physiotherapy experience are essential for this post. 

Continuing professional development is encouraged through the appraisal system and there is a well-established in service education programme. Attendance at post registration courses is supported and there are comprehensive library and computer facilities on site. Kings College Hospital NHS Trust is a large trust providing specialist services to the region and also serving a large local population. Students are also regularly on placement from local universities. We invite applications from HCPC-registered physiotherapists with experience in paediatric respiratory care

This job is unlikely to attract a work permit. Applications from candidates who require a permit to work in the UK may not be considered if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates. 

Please have the following knowledge and experience:–  

  • knowledge of the NHS and HCPC registration
  • previous paediatric respiratory physiotherapy experience
  • experience of taking part in an on-call rota.
