Variety Children’s Hospital

Locum Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine

8 PAs Part-Time

We are seeking to appoint a locum consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine to cover a sabbatical for a period of 9 months to start from 3 December 2018 or as soon as possible. This part-time (8 PAs) post is based at the Department of Child Health in the Variety Children’s Hospital at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT).  King’s College Hospital is a major London teaching hospital which has many tertiary paediatric specialist services and also provides general paediatric services for a large multi-ethnic inner city population.  KCHFT is part of London’s most comprehensive Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC) (King’s Health Partners), along with King’s College London and Guys and St Thomas’ and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to join a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team with four other respiratory paediatricians at a regional paediatric respiratory and cystic fibrosis centre serving south London and the Southeast. The post-holder will work primarily within the Paediatric Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis Centre at KCHFT .

The successful applicant should be fully accredited in paediatrics with sub-specialty in respiratory paediatrics and have wide experience in all aspects of paediatric respiratory medicine.  King’s provides excellent training for one grid trainee in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) on the London rotation and for a middle grade clinical fellow in PRM. There would be a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.

The closing date for applications is 1 week after posting.
