King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 12,600 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London and Kent.
The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley, Orpington Hospital, and some services at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Sidcup.
The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and Emergency Department.
King’s College Hospital Emergency Department at Denmark Hill see over 140,000 attendances each year with over 32,000 paediatric attendances. As a major trauma centre, the Trust is currently undergoing a wide-ranging transformational programme, encompassing service redesign. As part of this redesign we will be expanding our paediatric department to include a purpose built Paediatric Clinical Decisions Unit and provide additional capacity within our paediatric emergency department.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated, innovative, nurses with excellent, communication, clinical knowledge and skills, which are able to demonstrate their suitability and experience for the position of Staff Nurse. You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about emergency care and be committed to improving service delivery, and developing nursing practices for the children, young people and families who utilise our services.
You will be an effective team player and a positive role model within the team. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care to our service users and in guiding and supporting families whilst providing this care. You will be fully supported by the senior Children’s Nursing Team.
We are committed to developing staff and have strong links with the local universities. The Paediatric ED nursing team has a practice Development Nurse. We provide comprehensive trust and local inductions, preceptorship and competency programmes. Suitable training in order to facilitate all aspects of the job description will be provided.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
