Would your patients describe you as kind and say that you make them feel comfortable and cared for? Would your patients say you make them feel safe and they know your name? Would they say you advocate for them and ensure they are involved in decisions about their care? Would those you work with describe you as a nurse who treats their colleagues with kindness and respect? If so, would you like to work in a division where the nursing management philosophy promotes compassionate nursing and celebrates excellent practice.

The four Matrons within this division provide a 7 day service to support the junior staff on the wards. Would you like to work where there is a dedicated practice development team committed to developing the knowledge and skills of our nurses? Would you like to work in a place where the nursing leadership team have a strong visible presence on our wards? Medicine? If your answer to these questions is yes, then visit us for our Band 5 and Band 6 Nursing Recruitment Open Day on30th January 2018.

For Band 5 roles, we’re offering on-the-day drugs calculation tests and interviews for those who pass. Trauma, Emergency and Medicine has nine wards and two outpatient departments on the Denmark Hill site. They include an acute care hub ( mixed medical and surgical specialities), two acute medical unit (AMU) wards, three general medicine wards (each with a speciality link) and 3 Health & Ageing wards (care of older people),one specifically dedicated to function as an AMU for patients over 75.

In addition we have a Medical Assessment Centre (MAC) that is dedicated to ambulatory medicine and acute assessment and a day unit for older people that has a number of specialty services and ambulatory pathways. We have been working hard to develop our nursing practice and we are very proud of our progress so far. We want to continue that development and if you think your patients see you as a compassionate nurse, we would like you to be part of our team.
