Band 5 post in the acute neurology/neurosurgery unit at Kings College Hospital on Charles Polkey Ward.

Charles Polkey Ward treats patients who are undergoing neurological treatment or neurosurgery. It sees a range of patients including people who are acutely unwell, who have been admitted from other hospitals, or who are recovering from surgery. It has 23 beds.
This post is looking for someone dynamic, enthusiastic and eager to progress to come join our nursing team where you will be supported and guided by the ward manager the current band 6 team and your band 5 peers. You will be expected to plan provide and evaluate holistic individualized care to patients with a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions and work together with the band 2’s delegating tasks where appropriate. As you develop and progress within the role you will be expected to work towards and then be signed off as competent in taking charge of the ward on shifts and providing peer support to students and junior staff.
An appropriate post registration qualification and previous experience of leading a team is desirable but not essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is a relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
