Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced medical secretaries for the above post.

This busy but friendly Department provides a diagnostic service for the regional neuroscience centre on neurosurgical, neurological and psychiatric specimens; is a referral centre, is involved in research investigations and has UKAS ISO15189 accreditation. It also provides a clinical diagnostic service for the MRC London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. Because of this work a wide range of central and peripheral nervous system specimens are handled including muscle, nerve and pituitary biopsies.

You will be expected to have several years of experience in an office environment (ideally medical) and have good communication skills to help provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Department. Fast and accurate audio-typing, word-processing and spread-sheet skills are essential.  You will also need to have good organisational and time-management skills, work well in a team and be able to liaise with a range of staff and users of our service.  Further education and professional development is actively encouraged.
