An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic, experienced and woman-centered midwives to join our well-established midwifery service. At Kings College hospital – Denmark Hill we have recently introduced changes to our service provision. Pregnancy and childbirth are important stages in a woman’s life journey, and we ensure they receive the best possible care from our midwifery team.
Our midwifery service ensures more women have a high standard care through a highly supported team through the buddying system ensuring midwives are working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team on the labour ward. This will provide continuity of care and a more positive experience for women.
We have 4 caseload midwifery teams to care for women with serious mental illness, women requesting homebirths including those suitable for home assessments for uncomplicated pregnancies.
In order to facilitate midwives in maintaining intrapartum skills our community midwives also deliver care in our Midwifery led suite located within the Nightingale Birth Centre as part of our newly formed WAVES midwifery led team.
We also have a hospital based high risk team and an out of area team.
We strive to increase normal birth rates, reduce caesarean sections, and grow our already higher than average home-birth rate.
On labour ward and antenatal /postnatal ward we provide experiences in every part of the woman’s holistic care and will provide a sound foundation for all aspects of midwifery in a supportive environment.
There will be an unsocial hour’s component to these posts. This post is not suitable for newly-qualified Midwives but may be suitable for midwives considering flexible working.
We have strong links with Greenwich, Kings College and South Bank Universities to support further study and professional development.
If you are interested in becoming part of this innovative team of midwives, please come and join us.
