An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant -HCA (Band 3) to join the Programmed Investigation Unit (PIU) at Denmark Hill site, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Programmed Investigation Unit (PIU) is based at the Denmark Hill site. PIU decided to amalgamate the following specialities in the interest of efficiency and quality improvement: endocrine investigations, neurosciences/surgery, rheumatology, allergy and immunology investigations/infusions and gastroenterology infusions.
This unit is a nurse led service and the focus of the service is to meet the needs of patients who require endocrine dynamic investigations to diagnose various conditions, infusions to take place to manage patient conditions and provide support for patients undergoing these tests and or treatment. All interventions within the unit are short term and are based on appropriate assessments to ensure all patients’ needs are met.
The post holder will be based only at the Denmark Hill site and will be supporting the nursing team in endocrine tests and supporting patients who are having infusions. The post will also support other specialties using the department to ensure patients are seen on time and appropriate tests are carried out. The post is only 30 hours a week. The role provides the opportunity to work alongside a number of different specialties.
An informal visit is advised to gain a better understanding of the unit.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
