King’s College Hospital Viral Hepatitis Service is the Lead Centre for the South Thames and Kent Operational Delivery Networks and is the largest national provider of antiviral therapy for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B and C Viruses and associated co-infections
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, Registered Nurse to join our Viral Hepatitis Clinical Nurse Specialists team. The post holder will work within our existing CNS team to develop community services which deliver anti- viral treatment to HCV infected clients across the South Thames operational delivery network. Candidates should be flexible in their approach and be prepared to adapt to the needs of the service as some secondary care cover during leave may be required as part of the role.
You should be innovative in your thinking and be willing to travel to reach community services. You must be a team player but also confident in working autonomously and managing a patient case load. You will need advanced interpersonal skills to communicate with a wide range of internal and external agencies, to educate other health care professionals and to provide support to patients and their relatives through treatment.
You will have the drive and the opportunity to be involved in clinical audit, patient involvement strategies and to assist with the identification and development of clinical strategies and protocols to enhance both the continuity and standard of care for patients within the outreach service.
In turn you will be well supported by our existing experienced, friendly team to successfully complete competencies within this speciality. Through on going education you will be encouraged to play an active role in individual treatment and care plans in line with current research and guidelines.
If you are highly motivated and would like the challenge of working in a ground breaking environment we would like to speak to you.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
