Here at King’s College NHS Foundation Trust we are looking for a qualified, experienced and highly motivated Lead Infection Prevention and control Nurse to join our well established Infection Prevention and Control team. The successful candidate will work alongside the Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC), contributing to the development of service strategy and directly providing tactical leadership, specialist expert advice, in the field of infection prevention and control.

Successful candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate on-going professional development. You will work in conjunction with the Deputy DIPC, the post holder will be responsible for the coordination and development of a quality infection prevention and control service, providing leadership, support and guidance to trust staff, particularly those on the Denmark Hill site, and ensuring a patient focussed service. The post holder will be flexible and may be required to provide cross site cover. The post includes clinical and managerial leadership to the Infection Prevention and Control team and assists and collaborates with the Deputy DIPC for ensuring leadership of the team and infection prevention and control standards across the organisation. The post holder will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making and will be responsible for the day to day Infection Prevention and Control operational activities. They will work as a highly specialised member of the Infection Prevention and Control team, to assist in containing and reducing the incidence of infection in the organisation, through risk assessment, surveillance, audit, intervention and education. The role is a collaborative one, working with individuals and groups, across professional boundaries
