Post – LAS SpR Histopathology
An opportunity has risen for a Registrar to join the Histopathology team at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The team is comprised of eleven consultants and eight registrars.
The trust is one of the largest foundation trusts in the country with over 950 beds and a turnover of about £1 billion pa. It serves a wide population from the Southwark, Lambeth and Bromley and Bexley areas. The Trust provides a broad range of secondary services, including specialist emergency medicine (e.g. trauma, cardiac and stroke). It also provides a number of leading edge tertiary services, such as liver transplantation, neurosciences, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, cardiology and cardiac surgery, on a regional and national basis.
This is a CPA Accredited Department which has approximately 80 staff. This department is unique in housing three supra-regional assay and advisory services (SAAS) laboratory services on one site including; urine steroid profiling, trace elements and porphyria. The Specialist Laboratory provides a comprehensive range of high quality, fast and cost effective specialised testing. We have a strong track record for research and development as well as service innovation in partnership with King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC).
