This post would be suitable for any trainee who has successfully completed a 2 year Deanery School Foundation Programme or has achieved equivalent core medical competencies. Previous relevant experience at JCF level would be desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be part of the ward-based team in Gastroenterology, responsible for in-hours care of specialty patients (10 beds for acute patients). The post-holder will also provide support to the specialty with outreach and in-reach care and assessments as directed by the supervising Consultant (fully supervised practice). It is the expectation that the post-holder will be fully immersed in all aspects of Gastroenterology. Although the primary responsibility is to provide ward-based care, there will be opportunities for exposure to outpatient clinics, endoscopy and to take up a research and/or audit project within the department.

We consider postgraduate education and training as essential components of these posts. Within both the Department of Medicine and Gastroenterology and the Trust (organised by the Department of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education) there is a comprehensive teaching programme with protected MRCP teaching time and access to the excellent medical school facilities. The closing date is:  Wednesday 28 February 2018

Interview date: TBC
