Locum Junior House Office/ Foundation Year 1 Doctors in Speciality and Acute Medicine

We have twelve month posts in speciality and acute medicine. These posts are suitable for doctors wishing to gain Foundation Competencies having successfully completed a recognised medical degree who have, or are elligible to have, GMC registration. We are a busy and friendly Teaching Hospital and will help the successful candidates whatever their experience to improve their portfolio, experience and skills. Our posts are designed to provide a balanced training in a supported environment, even if you have some post-graduate experience but are unfamiliar with UK clinical practice.

The successful candidates will join our locum foundation programme across acute and general medicine with experience across respiratory medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, diabetes foot and acute health and ageing. We have excellent links with general and specialist surgery and many of our successful candidates use these posts as a successful springboard to locum Foundation year 2 posts, across King’s, to complete Foundation Training. Maintaining our clinical safety and excellent outcomes are important to us, our doctors work compliant, safe rotas with appropriately staffed teams; the acute and general medicine posts have take and clinic exposure and all posts include procedure training.

Postgraduate education and training are essential components of these posts; while the posts are designed for service the post-holders will have the same support from Educational and Clinical Supervisors, the Department of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, with access, support and encouragement for all aspects of your professional porfolio, including access to teaching and training in Departments and across the Trust, including Appraisal support; we also have an International Doctors Development Programme. The successful candidates will, like their predecesors, become our best adverts – we want your work and trainging to be safe, successful and enjoyable.

The closing date is: 17th July 2018

Interview dates will be in the week after the advert closes.
