The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Fellow in Medicine to work within the Department of Clinical Gerontology at Denmark Hill, a multidisciplinary team that manages patients within our acute trust, community teams (e.g. @home, St Christopher’s) and via our integrated partners. They would also link in with other specialities within the Trust - namely palliative care, acute medicine and potentially other specialities within scope including areas such as; Integrated Respiratory Teams, Heart failure, Surgical and tertiary speciality areas at Denmark Hill.

The post-holder will be expected to share in the management of patient care on the Health and Ageing Unit for 2.5 clinical days per week, and to scope out and support planned service developments for the remaining time, excluding medical on-call commitments. It is anticipated that the post-holder will work closely with colleagues in primary care and elderly care services to lead developments in the care of frail elderly patients with multiple co-morbidities, enhancing the delivery of integrated care and advanced care planning across organisational boundaries.

Their scope of work may also include understanding of change of bereavement practices delivered during the COVID pandemic, and how this can relate to shaping delivery of excellent end of life care for future patients.

The post holder must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a License to Practice. The post holder should be of ST3 level or above. Experience in Geriatric medicine and palliative care desirable.
