Applications are invited for this substantive Dermatology consultant post (8 PAs) at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Denmark Hill.
The post holder will work closely with the existing team of 5 consultants and 4 specialist registrars to provide a wide range of dermatology services. The Dermatology Department is a busy Consultant-led service providing a comprehensive dermatology service and has particular expertise in haemato-dermatology, severe drug eruptions, and connective tissue disorders. The department is closely engaged in looking after the hospital's in-patients, and the liaison dermatology service operates daily to manage patients with a variety of acute dermatoses. The outpatient service comprises general dermatology clinics, as well as specialist services in skin cancer, inflammatory dermatoses, female genital skin disease, paediatric dermatology, photobiology and dermatological surgery, including MOHS. Applicants will be encouraged to develop a specialist interest to complement existing expertise and to engage with service development.
The present post is an attractive opportunity for a consultant who has significant knowledge and experience of out-patient dermatology and management of acute dermatoses and the candidate is expected to have an excellent knowledge of medical dermatology, in particular acute and inpatient dermatology. The successful candidate will participate in a 1:5 – 1:6 limited out of hours on call rota.
The Department welcomes applications from candidates with wide experience in all aspects of dermatology, and should also have experience in the day to day organisation of dermatology services, ideally in a busy teaching hospital.
All applicants should be fully registered with a license to practice with the General Medical Council and included on the Specialist Register for Dermatology.
