King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 12,600 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London and Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley, Orpington Hospital, and some services at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Sidcup.

The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and Emergency Department.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated, dynamic and committed registered nurse to join the Practice Development Team within the Cardiac Division. We are a friendly team whose primary role is to support the learning and development of our clinical staff to ensure that they are motivated to provide high quality and evidence based patient care. The Department cares for patients requiring tertiary and specialist referrals across South East London and also works as part of the South London Network of Cardiovascular Care.

We are seeking someone who has excellent cardiovascular clinical experience and a passion for teaching and supporting staff within the clinical environment. The majority of your working time will be clinical working one to one with clinical staff.

Your role will be to influence, support and improve the quality of learning within the clinical areas. You will also assist in the delivery of in-house specialist training days, local induction of staff, corporate training and help to contribute to the design and delivery of the education provided within the Division. Our clinical areas include a Cardiology Ward with a Coronary Care Unit, a Cardiac Surgical Ward with a High Dependency Unit, a Recovery Unit (with ventilated patients), a Vascular Ward and Cardiac Catheter Labs.

We will ensure you have the support to be able to achieve your own objectives within the vision of the division as you will be working closely with the other members of the PDN and Senior Management Team.

So if you are looking for a new challenge in 2020 and are passionate about patient care, nursing education and supporting clinical staff in practice, then we would like to hear from you!
