Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in the sub-specialties of:
Tenure: 12 months
Post starting August 2018
These posts are designed for Specialty Trainees in Cardiology who intend to specialise in these sub-specialties who have already commenced training in general cardiology and wish to gain more sub-specialty experience, perhaps by taking an ‘out-of-programme experience [OOPE]’ from their current training programmes.
The successful candidates will be trained in advanced aspects of the respective specialty and will gain high volume experience. There will be involvement in all aspects of the busy clinical service, including acute coronary intervention (NSTEMI and primary PCI), acute/chronic heart failure/devices and structural cardiac intervention, including the TAVI programme. The department undertakes all forms of advanced echocardiography including Real Time 3D, contrast, stress and peri-procedural TOE, and has a rapidly growing Cardic MRI Department.
These are clinical posts and the appointee will be expected to contribute to the clinical service with the other 7 Specialty registrars. This will involve the on-call rota (1:10) and covering emergencies in other specialties within the hospital. Whilst these are not research fellow posts, there will be opportunities to get involved with commercial and non-commercial cardiac research.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
