We currently have a full time Maternity cover position for the role of Advanced Practitioner – Highly Specialist Clinical Cardiac Physiologist – Arrhythmia & Structural

The length of the maternity cover will be twelve months; and this post attracts a 10% Recruitment and Retention Premium.

King’s College hospital is a renowned research institution in south east London and with KCL and Guys/St Thomas’s forms Kings Health Partners.

This role will be based primarily within the cardiac catheter laboratories and Cardiac department Suite 6 at Denmark Hill, but the post holder will be employed to work on any KCH site as required.

The post holder will be a specialist in the field of electrophysiology and be able to operate without support at least two of the following EP systems: CARTO / Precision / Cryo / Rhythmia / Bard LS Pro.

The post holder is required to have an accreditation in IBHRE (EP) / previous NASPE / BHRS or working towards achieving the IBHRE and BHRS (EP) accreditations.

This challenging role will be based primarily within the structural and EP labs. You will support the lead physiologists for EP and complex invasive Cardiology.

The post holder will liaise with the lead TAVI specialist nurses and the research team to plan support required during the cases.

You will be a highly self-motivated team member who is organized, flexible and reliable. You must be able to demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic cardiology and be enthusiastic to teach cardiographers, junior staff and students as well as developing yourself in a specialist area with the intention of continuous post-graduate CPD.

Key requirements of this position are:

  • BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • Either studying for or have a post graduate qualification (NASPE/IBRHE/BHRS accreditation) in EP
  • Proven competency in EP and ablation techniques: operate without support at least two of the following EP systems: CARTO / Precision / Cryo / Rhythmia / Bard LS Pro
  • Proven competency in structural interventional procedure
  • Intermediate Life Support (ILS)
