The NIHR Wellcome Trust funded Clinical Research Facility (CRF) on the Denmark Hill Campus of King’s College London (KCL) seeks to appoint a Quality Manager for its purpose built CRF that also encompasses a Clinical Trials Unit and a Cell Therapy Unit.
This exciting post reflects NHS and academic research collaborations between King’s College London, King’s College Hospital, the Institute of Psychiatry and the South London and Maudsley Hospitals NHS Trust which come together under the Academic Health Sciences Centre (King’s Health Partners); a centre of academic excellence. The appointees will be working under the direction of the Director and Manager of the CRF but with day to day direct responsibility for the CRF, its staff, facilities and activity, at the interface of these organisations.
The CRF will extend laboratory based research into translational research and clinical trials in a wide range of areas including neurological and psychological illnesses, brain injury, transplantation, cancer, liver disease, imaging science, cardiology and gene and stem cell research, all of which impact on the health of the nation as well as the local population.
The successful candidates, who will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a clinical or life sciences related subject show evidence of further education including post-graduate certification / diploma / Continuous Professional / PhD and development in clinical research.
They will have a minimum of four years experience undertaking, co-ordinating or managing clinical research in an academic or commercial setting preferably involving phase I and II clinical trials. The post holder will have proven experience of developing and implementing quality assurance procedures in a clinical research environment.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
