Overseas Visitors Administrative Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the International & Private Patient Services (Guthrie Clinic), for an enthusiastic and well-organised NHS Overseas Visitors Administrative Assistant to assist in the identifying, interviewing and charging of patients not entitled to NHS care. Working closely with the NHS Overseas Visitors Communications and Regulations Manager and NHS Overseas Visitors Co-ordinator, this is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to develop within this exciting and challenging role. Ideally you will have substantial NHS experience including experience of hospital/patient processes. You will be required to keep up to date with policies and guidelines on a regular basis, in line with current legislation via the Department of Health / Immigration Authorities.

The successful applicant will be conversant in using all aspects of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to adopt a flexible approach. The ability to work effectively within a team and to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines is essential. You must have strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

A good team player, you will be happy working with a broad range of people with different skills and at all levels and be able to demonstrate that you can act on your own initiative.

You will be committed to your own personal development and a willingness to learn and develop new skills will be positively encouraged. You will become part of an expanding and enthusiastic team and will play an instrumental part in the smooth running of the NHS Overseas Visitors office.
