B8B Associate Chief Pharmacist / Associate Chief Technician – Procurement & Distribution Services

Due to retirement we are looking to appoint an exceptional technician or pharmacist to join the senior pharmacy leadership team at King’s as Associate Chief Technician/Pharmacist – Procurement & Distribution Services. This role has lead responsibility for strategically developing and maintaining the pharmacy procurement & distribution services across all Trust sites.

You will be expected to represent our forward thinking and highly regarded department at the highest levels both within and external to the Trust. The cross-site responsibility for the service includes;

  • management accountability for the delivery of all pharmacy procurement & distribution services provided on all sites including out of hours and at weekends
  • management accountability for the delivery of national and regional strategic developments for procurement & distribution pharmacy services

Supported by Principle Technicians and support staff on each site, you will need to be able to lead and develop the procurement & distribution services, to ensure that patients receive a safe, high quality and responsive patient centred service in a manner that reflects the Trust and NHS strategy, priorities and values. You will be planning and developing the future strategic direction for operational and logistic functions of the services in line with our forward thinking STP and HPTP plans, ensuring effective intra-department communication and new ways of working. In return you will get autonomy, variation, exposure to the Trust and National Committees and the chance to further develop your leadership and professional skills.

Essential qualities for this post include significant experience at a senior level in hospital pharmacy, a postgraduate diploma and a formal management qualification or relevant experience. You will already be an accomplished leader and have the ability to take these challenges on to the next level. We are looking for an imaginative and strategic thinker, inspirational and determined in approach and exceptional in ability to lead and influence others.

The role will involve travel across both sites of King’s College Hospital therefore the post holder must be able to meet the travel requirements of this post.
