We have exciting Band 6 opportunities for experienced Haemato-Oncology nurses to provide essential nursing expertise and leadership across our Haematology in patient services. Following a recent skill mix review we have vacancies for Senior Staff nurses with a strong passion for Haematology and Oncological nursing.

You should have recognised chemotherapy and haemato-oncology qualification and experience of regular shift coordination. This is an opportunity to show leadership skills, specialist knowledge and skills in the care and treatment of oncology and Haematology patient, demonstrating extended scope of practice and skills to support the development of the Ward. You will demonstrate an energy and true enthusiasm for the speciality and be committed to using your expert knowledge to deliver high quality care and psychological support to patients and their families. Acting as a role model and resource for junior staff, you will support the Ward Manager, leading the ward when on duty and contributing to wider activities such as audit to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

The Department of Haematological Medicine at King’s is one of the leading UK centres for the care of patients with both malignant disorders (leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, Aplastic Anaemia, MDS) and non-malignant disorders (Sickle Cell Disease). Our Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) service is currently the largest in the UK and currently performing over 200 transplants a year. Our service comprises of 56 inpatient beds across, busy Supportive Therapy and Apheresis Units. We are currently expanding the service, offering transplantation for Multiple Sclerosis and Sickle cell disease and developing ambulatory transplant services.
