Full Time 37.5 hours/week

Are you an experienced Critical Care trained nurse? Are you looking to develop your clinical expertise, leadership and management skills in a progressive, dynamic and friendly Critical Care Unit? If so, then please read on as King’s College Hospital Critical Care wants to hear from you!

King’s Critical Care Units are seeking experienced, passionate and dedicated Critical Care nurses who would like to develop their clinical, teaching, management and leadership skills in these demanding and rapidly changing environments. The Nurse Team Leader position assists the senior nursing team with the day to day management and leadership of the unit and an identified group of nurses.

You will be a clinical expert currently working on a busy multi-speciality Critical Care Unit with the ability to make clinical decisions in relation to both Level 2 and Level 3 patients. The post holder must have an appropriate post-registration Critical Care Course, mentorship qualification and ideally, hold (or be actively working towards) a UK recognised nursing degree or equivalent. You will need to demonstrate a proven track record of change management reflected in improved patient care. Possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team, demonstrating an insight into team structure, leadership and development.

There are currently 4 Critical Care Units at King’s (Denmark Hill site) and a new purpose built 60 bedded unit is due to open in summer 2018, giving you the exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class Critical Care Centre. The new Critical Care Units will open in addition to the current Critical Care Units at King’s, providing specialist care across all specialities for critically ill medical and surgical patients, including neurosurgery, neurology, trauma, orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiothoracic, cardiology, renal, liver and haematology.

In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer well-established, structured teaching and staff development programmes for all staff. We are affiliated to King’s College, London, which provides a wide variety of modules that will lead to an MSc in Critical Care Nursing. King’s offers relocation support if your new appointment requires moving from your current accommodation. Please feel free to ask a member of the recruitment team.
