Paediatric Recovery Nurse

Do recovering children and young people post-surgery sound appealing to you?

We are pleased to offer an opportunity for an experienced Children or Adult trained nurse to apply for the post of pediatric recovery nurse within Variety Children Hospital at King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill. Our recovery services are paediatric friendly and in close proximity with main theatres. A team of experienced nurses recover elective and urgent cases of children and young people post- surgically.

This role will require acute airway management of children post-surgery and rapid assessment of post anesthetic patients. You will be part of the core paediatric nursing recovery team who are highly skilled and supportive. You will have the opportunity to work alongside surgeons, anesthetists and theatre practitioners in recovering children post theatre.

You will be given training and supported to be part of this specialist area by the team, the practice development nurse, and the Matron. This role would provide the unique opportunity for you to bring in your existing skills, and gain new skills as part of a motivated and enthusiastic team.

This post would be offered as a full time secondment initially, with the view to become substantive.
