The Rehabilitation Engineering Division is seeking an engineer to complement their team that forms part of our South East London operation at the Rehabilitation Centre, Bowley Close, Crystal Palace.

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, the successful applicants will provide engineering input to the delivery of posture and mobility systems and associated assistive technology based on the specific needs of the client and their environment. A valid, manual, driving licence is essential, as the post will require travel throughout the area. The job may on occasion involve providing cover for other staff of the Rehabilitation Engineering Division team across other service locations.

You should hold an honours degree in engineering/applied science or equivalent and have demonstrable experience and proven knowledge posture and mobility field. You should also have IPEM Diploma in Clinical Technology or Certificate in Rehabilitation Engineering or equivalent logged experience. Prior experience in rehabilitation engineering within the posture and mobility field is seen as essential for this role. You should be registered as a Clinical Technologist or Clinical Scientist with Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine/Health Professions Council. In addition to your qualifications and experience in engineering and posture and mobility, you will need a sympathetic approach to patients and be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to show initiative and work independently.

The post would ideally suit persons who are looking to further develop their career in clinical/rehabilitation engineering. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, innovative and enjoys working as part of a highly motivated team within a specialist rehabilitation service.
