Day Surgery Unit (Theatres)

Anaesthetic Practitioner

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Day Surgery Unit, Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough Bromley

Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to be a Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioner of our Day Surgery Unit? Would you like to be part of our dynamic and dedicated team at the Princess Royal University Hospital, part of Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust? If so, this may be just for you.

The Alan Cummings Day Surgery Unit at the PRUH is made up of 6 theatres, a 30 bedded ward and 2 pre assessment rooms which operate Monday to Friday, with the occasional Saturdays in a variety of specialties including general surgery, urology, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, dental surgery and ophthalmology. The unit caters to both adult and paediatric patients.

We have a mixture of nurses and ODP’s in our anaesthetic practitioner team and we pride ourselves on the delivery of high standards of patient care.  Our anaesthetic practitioners work across all areas.

The Alan Cummings Day Surgery Unit is a fantastic place for you to develop your existing anaesthetic skills and gain experience in areas in which you may not have worked before.  We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated anaesthetic staff to join our team with a focus on developing their skills and workforce in Anaesthetics.  We are keen to hear from applicants who are dynamic, flexible, self-motivated and enthusiastic about providing excellent patient care whilst developing a work force fit for the future. Previous experience or placement within a theatre recovery setting is desirable but not essential as training will be given.

To be eligible for the position you must be a Registered Nurse with a UK recognised post-registration anaesthetic course, or a registered Operating Department Practitioner.  In return we will offer you the ability to advance your skills and aim to provide you with a high standard of training both in the clinical area through our Practice Development Team and through our Kings Partners higher education institutions.
