Due to an expansion of the service there is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative critical care outreach team ‘iMobile’ at the Princess Royal University Hospital (part of King’s College University NHS Trust).

The Princess University Hospital is in an enviable position of sitting just inside the M25 – making access easy with the advantages of outer London weighting (which attracts a maximum £4528 per annum). This brings a unique work life balance, having the benefits of being in a beautiful rural area which is also on the doorstep of the Capital.

The critical care department offer well-established, structured teaching and staff development programmes for all staff, and we are affiliated to King’s College, London, which provides a wide variety of modules that will lead to BSc or MSc in Critical Care Nursing.

iMobile Critical Care Outreach is a busy service, in 2017 the team saw over 4000 patients. This is a dynamic team of critical care nurses providing support to the wards in caring for deteriorating patients. In the 2017 and 2015 CQC inspections iMobile was cited as an ‘outstanding area of practice’.

The iMobile team provides the following service to patients on the wards:

  1. Rapid response, stabilisation and transfer to ICU
  2. ICU step down care
  3. Outreach service and education
  4. Mobile critical care therapy for patients on the wards requiring ‘optimisation’ and ‘trial of treatment’ or the facilitation of ‘safe discharge ‘

We are looking for proactive, enthusiastic and caring individuals with excellent communication skills, who will enjoy working in this demanding and rapidly changing environment.
You will have an appropriate specialist course and teaching qualification and ideally possess a degree, with substantial critical care experience working in a similar clinical environment. You must be able to demonstrate expert clinical skills and evidence based decision making with the ability to work autonomously. Key attribute for this role is excellent communication skills with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.  Delivering patient care in a variety of clinical settings, your role will be to work within the iMobile Critical Care Outreach team assessing, managing and treating patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.  This role is clinically based.
