The dynamic Physiotherapy department at Kings College Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the rotation of Band 6 physiotherapists specialising in respiratory care across inpatient and community settings.

The in-patient respiratory team is facilitated by 3 Clinical Lead Physiotherapists, specialising in Critical Care, Respiratory Medicine and Cystic Fibrosis. The community services also have their own Clinical Leads and there is a Consultant Respiratory Physiotherapist in Respiratory medicine. Kings College Hospital is a specialist tertiary referral centre for liver disease, neurosurgery, cardiothoracics, cystic fibrosis, haematology and major trauma.

The Trust is opening a new 60 bedded critical care unit in two phases during 2018-19 allowing the successful candidate a chance to work in an innovatively designed, state of the art critical care unit. There is a strong drive to participate in research at Kings and the Respiratory team regularly submit posters and publications at national and international level. The rotations are 7 monthly and are in the following areas: Medicine and Non-Invasive Ventilation b) Liver Critical Care Major Trauma and Critical Care Cystic Fibrosis Community Pulmonary Rehab and O/P Renal Rehab Community Integrated Respiratory service (MDT team)- admission avoidance, home care, 7/7 service Haem-oncology and Critical care Neurosurgical Critical care Continuing professional development is encouraged through the appraisal system and there is a well-established in service education programme.

Attendance at post registration courses is supported and there are comprehensive library and computer facilities on site. Kings College Hospital NHS Trust is a large trust providing specialist services to the region and also serving a large local population. There are over 130 physiotherapy staff working on three sites, however a cohesive team approach is maintained through regular in-service training and staff meetings. Students are also regularly on placement from local universities.

Applicants should have HCPC registration and be able to demonstrate post graduate respiratory experience.
