Clinical Fellow (ST3+) - Older People's Medicine & Acute Medicine We have an exciting opportunity to invite applications for the position of Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Registrar Level) within the Older People’s Medicine Specialty at King’s College Hospital (Denmark Hill). This is a well-established post within the hospital and considered important for the smooth running of the department and the services provided. The roles and responsibilities are outlined in the job description attached to this advertisement.

The Clinical Fellow will work in a supportive environment and the role will be tailored to some extent based on the candidate’s previous experience and aspirations for the post.We provide a Consultant led service at King’s within the medical pathway across acute and post-acute medicine, previous post-holders have reported they work in a supportive environment with many training opportunities. The candidate will be encouraged to develop a special interest through this year. We are undertaking transformative change within the medical inpatient pathway, as part of which there are many opportunities to undertake quality improvement projects in supporting PDSA cycle change within the multi-disciplinary teams.

The post is based within Older-People’s Medicine at the Denmark Hill site which takes part in the rotations with established specialist trainees (ST3-7). These range from Medical inpatient and outpatient pathways, Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit and Surgical liaison. All rotations participate in MDT’s led by consultant Geriatricians, therefore could be well suited to a post-CMT doctor within an interest in Older-People’s Medicine to explore the option of further training whilst developing their general medicinal experience.

The successful candidate will be attached to a dedicated Educational supervisor for this year to ensure they meet similar training opportunities afforded to this grade of doctor. We offer equal training opportunities and funding to training posts. This is a fixed-term role for a period of 6 or 12 months.
