Lactation Consultant / Breastfeeding Midwife - Tongue tie clinic

The Tongue tie service at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust offers a service to approximately 30 patients a week arranged over 6 clinics a fortnight at the Denmark Hill site in Camberwell. The service is well established and provides a key source of breastfeeding support to mothers and babies in the local community and further afield.

We currently have a unique opportunity for a Lactation Consultant within the Tongue tie team at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual with enthusiasm for caring for mothers and their babies to support breastfeeding.

The successful candidate will provide support and leadership to the Tongue tie clinic by assisting the surgeon and registrar during the assessment and frenulotomy procedure. In addition, the individual will also lead assessments and independently perform frenulotomy procedures (training will be provided if required).

There are opportunities for the postholder to be involved in the development of new practice protocols, research and audit.

The vacancy is for two(2) afternoons clinic per week (9 hours).
