An exciting vacancy and career development opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse practitioner to continue in the development of our nationally renowned Haematology Unit. We seek to appoint a dynamic senior nurse to jointly lead a team of Haematology specialist nurses. You will work closely with consultants, specialist registrars and other senior nurses in enhancing our services for a cohort of patients with lymphoid malignancies (lymphomas, CLL and ALL).

The post holder will work in partnership with another part time lymphoid CNS to provide a comprehensive nursing service to this patient group together with Consultant Haematologists, Specialist Registrars and other senior nurses. You will be responsible in managing a large case load of lymphoid malignancies through the service as their key worker and will provide a high level of support and education both in the outpatient and inpatient settings.

You will be expected to work autonomously and shouldhave significant experience in caring for and supporting patients with Haematological malignancies along with excellent communication and organizational skills and be committed to providing a service of excellence for this group of patients.A comprehensive understanding of all treatment modalities and the associated complexities involved in caring for this group of patients is essential. You will have the opportunity to develop and run nurse lead services.

With a clear understanding of the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist as a clinical expert, leader, researcher and educator you will possess excellent communication and highly developed organizational skills. You will also be committed to the development of specialist nursing practice and demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional and academic development.

You will have a first degree and be willing to undertake a Masters degree in the future.
