LOCUM CONSULTANT IN PAEDIATRIC/COMMUNITY SPECIAL CARE DENTISTRY
Applications are invited for one 1.0 WTE locum consultant post based in Paediatric Dentistry at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust 2 days per week and 3 days per week in Community Special Care Dentistry clinics in South London. The locum post will be a fixed term post until 31stMarch 2018.
The successful candidate will have established leadership and team-working qualities and will be expected to play an active role in the development, provision and delivery of oral health care to a wide range of patients who require paediatric/special care dentistry in both hospital and community settings.Together with departmental colleagues they will be expected to forge links with other departments within the Trust and with external agencies to develop appropriate services for patients with complex needs.In addition they will be required to contribute to the leadership of the Department whilst having a commitment to teaching and training of junior staff. You will also be expected to contribute to continuing education, clinical governance, audit and research.Major areas of paediatric/special care dentistry at King’s include the provision of oral health care in the community from over 20 locations across nine boroughs of South London, the provision of dental treatment under day stay general anaesthesia for patients with complex disabilities from 4 hospital sites, provision of intravenous sedation, oral health care to medically compromised patients including those with mental health issues. You must have full registration with the General Dental Council and be eligible for appointment as a Consultant in Paediatric/Special Care Dentistry by being on the Specialist list in Paediatric Dentistry or Special Care Dentistry.
