King’s has a reputation for innovation and working in ways that puts women and their families at the heart of our care.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced midwife with a passion for providing and maintaining excellence in bereavement care to join our team for 37.5 hours per week.

As Band 7 Specialist Midwife for Pregnancy Loss you will lead on maternity bereavement service development on the Denmark Hill site. You will champion and support the delivery of high quality, evidence-based family centred bereavement care.

You will be compassionate and motivated, acting as a role model, pivotal in bringing about positive changes in the maternity bereavement service. You must have excellent and sensitive communication skills with the ability to actively engage with women to provide support, information and advice.

The role involves coordinating and delivering training and education for all maternity staff, and as such will require you to have excellent teaching skills and a high standard of organisation and time management.

Your ability to build successful working relationships is essential. You will work in conjunction with other expert practitioners, liaise with the MDT, engage with outside organisations and charities, and provide leadership and line management to the Band 6 Bereavement Midwife to ensure a continuous and personalised approach is upheld across the bereavement care pathway.

You will be responsible for the collection of statistical information for both local and national reporting as well as carrying out and presenting audits and evaluations to ensure safe and high quality care and best practice are maintained within the bereavement service.

If you are passionate about excellence in bereavement care, are looking for career development and the opportunity to broaden your experience, this is an ideal post.

This post is based on the Denmark Hill site but may require some cross-site working across maternity services at both Denmark Hill and PRUH.

Previous applicants need not apply.
