Consultant Occupational Therapist

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a large and busy teaching hospital across multiple sites, with a unique profile of strong local services and a focused set of specialist services. With over 350 therapists across all sites, the Occupational Therapy department has over 120 staff providing inpatient and outpatient services across a wide and diverse range of specialities.

The Occupational Therapy Service, along with Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy, is managed under a supportive structure with The Chief of Therapies, Rehabilitation and Allied Clinical Services. The department puts a strong emphasis on learning and rehab environment that ensures staff have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge to their full potential.

This is an interesting post based in a challenging but rewarding clinical and management environment. Multi-disciplinary working is well established across the service and we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled occupational therapist to influence, together with the Chief of Therapies, the further development of occupational therapy clinically, operationally and strategically.

Do you have proven skills in stroke and neuro rehabilitation service within an acute hospital trust? If so you could be the therapist we are looking for to join our team. We are looking for someone with:

Proven skills in clinical leadership and management of patients within stroke and neuro rehabilitation in an acute environment.


Demonstrable flexibility, ability to manage change, good financial management, innovative service models and excellent team skills.


Strong clinical skills in stroke and neuro rehabilitation.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Experience of delivering high quality training and development for more junior staff and students.


Working in a department, which offers a wide range of experience, you will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching, research and managerial skills as well as contribute towards service development within the Trust and its various partners.
